Daley Padley, known universally as Hot Since 82, emerged as a compelling force in the global house and techno scene in the early 2010s. Hailing from Leeds, UK, Padley’s journey into electronic music began at a young age, DJing in local clubs before taking a hiatus from the scene. His resurgence, however, is the stuff of legend: an after-party in Ibiza in 2010 saw an unreleased track on his phone played through the sound system by accident, catching the attention of those present and reigniting his passion. This fortuitous moment quickly propelled him into the spotlight.
Hot Since 82 quickly garnered recognition for his distinctive sound, a sophisticated blend of deep house, tech-house, and melodic techno. His tracks are characterized by their rich textures, emotive synth lines, powerful basslines, and an undeniable groove that resonates on dancefloors worldwide. Early releases on esteemed labels such as Moda Black, Get Physical, and Noir Music cemented his reputation as a producer capable of crafting both intricate and hugely impactful tunes. His debut album, "Little Black Book" (2013), was met with critical acclaim, showcasing his versatility and depth.
In 2014, Padley launched his own label, Knee Deep In Sound, which rapidly became a highly respected platform for his own productions and a launchpad for emerging talent. The label's eponymous event series has also become a global fixture, hosting parties in some of the most iconic venues and festivals across the globe. Beyond his studio work, Hot Since 82 is celebrated as an exceptional DJ, known for his marathon sets and his ability to command diverse crowds with his expertly curated selections and seamless mixing.
